This non-exempt role involves a range of responsibilities within the medical facility, including medical assisting and radiographic imaging. The Radiologic Technologist operates imaging equipment to capture radiographs of specified body areas under a physician's directive, adhering to established radiation safety protocols. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and hold registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or be registry-eligible. CPR certification and prior healthcare experience are preferred, along with state certification from Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for:

  • Conducting all radiographic examinations in accordance with protocols established by the medical director.
  • Ensuring precision in radiographic positioning and exposure techniques.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of radiation safety and protection during all imaging procedures.
  • Assisting the radiologist with complex imaging tasks.
  • Preparing and administering contrast media in compliance with hospital policies and relevant regulations.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Completion of a JRC-approved Radiologic Technology program (mandatory).

Experience:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a general radiographer (required).

Certifications:

  • Registered with ARRT and possess KY Radiation Operators Certification (mandatory).

CPR Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (required).
