Structural Design Engineer

The Structures team at Relativity Space is responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, and manufacturing launch vehicle integrated structures and flight mechanisms. As a key member of this team, you will be given hardware ownership for the full product lifecycle and have the opportunity to validate your designs through testing at our factory of the future in Long Beach, CA.
Key Responsibilities- Develop innovative structural load path designs and conceptualize complex structures and adjacent system packaging.
- Review static and dynamic load inputs, material properties, and test requirements for structural systems and subsystems.
- Analyze and size flight structures to ensure timely design reviews and drawing release.
- Develop and support hardware test campaigns, including test integration, operation, and result evaluation.
- Support manufacturing process development and ensure efficient production of flight components.
- 8+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience with industry-standard CAD packages such as NX, Creo, or Solidworks.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis and test methods.
- Fundamental knowledge of structures strength, stability, and fatigue failure mechanisms.
- Fundamental knowledge of additive and traditional manufacturing processes.
- Full life cycle project ownership experience.
