Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Quality Assurance, the Quality Inspector will be responsible for inspecting incoming and in-process electronic assemblies and mechanical hardware. The primary duties will include assisting in the daily departmental functions of inspection and development of procedures, assisting in the implementation of ISO 9000, and assisting in defect reporting and trend evaluations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections on incoming and in-process electronic assemblies and mechanical hardware.
  • Conduct source inspections at vendor facilities.
  • Ensure that product is manufactured to the latest applicable configuration documentation.
  • Prepare and review data submittal packages for end item deliverables.
  • Prepare Deficiency Reports for hardware, software, and documentation issues.
  • Maintain, control, and process non-conforming material.
  • Certify and assist in maintaining ESD stations and monitor employee ESD compliance.
  • Participate in the Change Control Board and Material Review Board.
  • Assist in defect tracking and evaluation process.
  • Generate Corrective Action Requests for vendor quality rejections.
  • Assist in the implementation of ISO 9000 and procedure development.
  • Assist in coordination of failure analysis efforts.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • J-STD-001 or IPC-610-A certification.
  • 6+ months experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to use micrometers and calipers.
  • Basic blueprint and wiring diagram reading.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (secret).
Preferred Qualifications
  • ISO 9000 Lead Assessor and Implementation certification and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, sketches, and test procedures.
  • Ability to record accurate inspection data and write a concise report of findings.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use mechanical and electrical measuring instruments.
  • Basic understanding of electro-mechanical assemblies.
