Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical advice and guidance to patients and families through phone and electronic correspondence.
  • Consult with healthcare providers as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Develop and implement patient education plans to promote preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute diagnosis.
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed by healthcare providers and in accordance with department protocols.
  • Assist with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams as designated by healthcare providers.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for further testing.
  • Authorize prescription refills as instructed by healthcare providers.
  • Assist with test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and quality of care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
  • AHA CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • One to two years of nursing experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
  • Prior triage, emergency room, cardiac care, intensive care, or other related specialty nursing experience.
