- Consult with healthcare providers as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement patient education plans to promote preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute diagnosis.
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by healthcare providers and in accordance with department protocols.
- Assist with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams as designated by healthcare providers.
- Perform Point of Care Testing, including hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for further testing.
- Authorize prescription refills as instructed by healthcare providers.
- Assist with test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
- Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
- Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient experience and quality of care.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), issued by the PA State Board of Nursing.
- AHA CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- One to two years of nursing experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office.
- Prior triage, emergency room, cardiac care, intensive care, or other related specialty nursing experience.
