Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist IV / Surg Tech / CVOR to join our team at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital. This full-time position requires a strong understanding of patient care and a sound knowledge of surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate will have acquired broad experience in caring for patients and have developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population. They will implement and evaluate care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.

The Surgical Technologist IV / Surg Tech / CVOR will prioritize and actively participate in procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients. They will identify verbally or in writing unusual incidents during patient care procedures and identify complex procedure problems related to patient reaction, symptoms, or changes in needs based on patient reactions.

The successful candidate will determine the equipment, materials, and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan. They will keep the peri-operative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress.

Active membership in professional organization is required. The Surgical Technologist IV / Surg Tech / CVOR will assist with planning and conducting department orientation of new staff and students. They will serve as a role model or mentor for new staff and students.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training
  • Certification in Surgical Technology strongly preferred
  • Two years multispecialty experience with one year in CVOR specialty area
  • Ability to function as a clinical expert in CVOR service line and float to other service lines as needed
