Job Summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Cashier II to join our team. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a seamless shopping experience, and contributing to the success of our travel centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all guests
  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately, maintaining a clean and well-stocked food and beverage area
  • Assist with receiving and stocking merchandise, maintaining a visually appealing store environment
  • Support the training of lower-level cashiers, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and growth
  • Prioritize tasks according to store and management needs, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and report any potential hazards or incidents
  • Establish strong relationships with leaders and colleagues, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of cashier experience, preferably in a retail or food service environment
  • Strong computer and POS skills, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Cash handling skills and experience with handling cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods
  • Merchandising and stocking experience, with a focus on maintaining a visually appealing store environment
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with guests and colleagues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
