Staff Engineer - Structural
Salary Range: $105,000 - $130,000
Location: Daphne, AL
We are seeking a dedicated Staff Structural Design Engineer to take charge of all structural engineering functions for our client’s organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and ensure the excellence of structural design services.
- Set and uphold standards for structural analysis and design practices.
- Oversee and support structural engineering projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Supervise all structural engineering tasks, including the review and approval of designs.
- Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, manufacturers, suppliers, and other engineering firms.
- Maintain a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license, pursue ongoing professional development, and stay informed on industry advancements.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Creating structural design packages for equipment.
- Conducting structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and addressing complex challenges.
- Reviewing manufacturer designs to ensure compliance with standards.
- Carrying out structural assessments and overseeing the fabrication and testing of equipment.
- Participating in design meetings across various locations.
- Conducting site inspections for project-related equipment.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in structures.
- Current PE license in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment or steel structure design and FEA.
- Proficiency in structural FEA and drafting software.
- Strong understanding of design codes and excellent analytical capabilities.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and a collaborative team member.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work at heights on access systems.
- US citizenship or permanent resident status.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced skills in FEMAP, Ansys, SolidWorks 3D Simulation, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in civil/structural design of marine terminal structures.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment interface with structural design.
- Experience with container handling equipment and terminal civil design.
- Residency in Mobile, Alabama.
- Willingness to travel internationally and work at heights on access systems.
