Faculty Position in Sociology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our Department of Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology at Concordia University in Irvine, California. The successful candidate will be appointed as a Professor of Sociology at an appropriate rank and will be expected to teach courses that serve the department and possibly Concordia's Enduring Questions and Ideas Curriculum (EQ&I). The faculty member will also be involved in advising, mentoring, assessment, program recruitment, and university service.

Qualifications: A doctoral degree (PhD preferred) in sociology with experience in teaching and research is desired, but a MA/MS in sociology is acceptable with proper professional experience. Members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod are desired, but any member of a Christian congregation that confesses the historic creeds of the Christian Church are encouraged to apply.

Appointment: The position is a full-time position in Sociology that will require being on the Irvine campus and comes with full rights as a full-time faculty member. The faculty will be expected to teach courses in the department, including general education and majors, and participate in events related to the major and department, as well as other programs on campus.
