Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Harm Reduction Specialist to join our team at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. The successful candidate will provide critical support services to individuals at risk of HIV, STIs, and substance use disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide harm reduction services, including outreach, counseling, and screening, to individuals at risk of HIV, STIs, and substance use disorders.
  • Conduct phlebotomy services and collect specimens for HIV, STI, and HCV testing.
  • Assist clients in developing risk reduction plans and provide education on harm reduction strategies.
  • Collaborate with community partners to provide comprehensive services to individuals at risk.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including data collection and submission to funders.
Requirements
  • Certified phlebotomist or willingness to become trained within 18 months.
  • Certified Application Counselor or willingness to become trained within 6 months.
  • Valid Massachusetts Driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with priority populations, including individuals at risk of HIV, STIs, and substance use disorders.
  • Bilingual/bicultural (English/Spanish) skills.
  • Strong knowledge of substance use, HIV, STIs, and HCV, including transmission and prevention strategies.
