Job Summary

Green Mountain Transit is seeking a skilled CDL driver to join our team. As a CDL driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a CDL-type vehicle in the transport of passengers. This role requires excellent customer service skills, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Vehicles Safely: Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and operate them in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Assist passengers with disabilities, provide helpful information, and ensure a positive experience for all riders.
  • Comply with Regulations: Obey all applicable traffic laws, follow route schedules, and notify dispatch of any issues.
  • Communicate Effectively: Use courtesy and diplomacy when interacting with the public.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements is required.
  • Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years old, have a clean driving record, and pass standard background checks, a DOT medical physical, and a pre-employment drug screen.
Essential Job Skills and Abilities
  • Valid CDL: Possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (class B) with a Passenger (P) endorsement.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to safely and effectively drive the vehicle, reach all controls without assistance, and see in all directions while seated.
