Job Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist with Christus Health, you will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients assigned to occupational therapy. Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy, you will be responsible for adhering to the standards of Occupational Therapy Practice Act as it applies to providing technical therapy care, supplies, equipment, and interventions to a designated patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans to promote independence and mobility.
  • Provide technical therapy care, including exercises, activities, and interventions, to patients of various ages and abilities.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
  • Supervise and assist Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in providing care to patients.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in occupational therapy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current Louisiana OT License and BLS Card required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Rehabilitative experience and certifications in NDT, metronome, Big and Loud preferred.
