Position Overview:

One Percent for America (OPA) is on the lookout for a Head of Consumer Lending Initiatives to become an integral part of our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in fostering financial innovation and creating opportunities that support immigration inclusion while addressing the challenges associated with U.S. citizenship. OPA's mission is to provide unsecured small-dollar loans at a minimal interest rate to assist with USCIS immigration application fees, having already allocated over $1.5M in loan capital to more than 1300 borrowers.

About OPA:

As a burgeoning nonprofit organization, OPA is committed to aggressive growth and seeks a leader to spearhead our consumer lending efforts. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of ten full-time staff members and oversee a group of three, ensuring efficient lending operations and exceptional customer service. Reporting directly to the SVP of Marketing & Engagement, this role will be crucial in shaping and executing our digital lending strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive innovation in loan products and services, contributing to strategic lending initiatives aimed at scaling growth and impact.
  • Oversee the development and management of consumer loan offerings, ensuring operational efficiency in alignment with digital lending strategies.
  • Enhance forecasting capabilities and track mission impact in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Lead customer service operations, refining policies to ensure an outstanding experience for borrowers.
  • Boost borrower acquisition and retention through effective engagement and educational initiatives.
  • Monitor loan performance, implementing strategies to mitigate default and enhance repayment rates.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, optimizing service quality to align with OPA's mission.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant consumer lending regulations and develop responsive operational procedures.
  • Establish and measure performance metrics against industry benchmarks to support lending growth.
Qualifications:
  • 5-10 years of experience in digital consumer lending, with a strong grasp of loan products and operational management.
  • Proven track record in leading consumer lending operations within a startup environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with a strategic mindset to deliver timely results.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders to enhance OPA's reputation as a mission-driven lender.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills essential for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in managing and developing diverse teams focused on lending and customer service.
