Key ResponsibilitiesThe Surgical Specialist is tasked with:
- Assessing the unique needs of each patient assigned and collaborating with a registered nurse to devise a comprehensive care plan.
- Ensuring the effective implementation of the care plan through skilled performance in the operating room.
- Contributing to the training of new staff and providing nursing care tasks to maintain a secure environment for surgical patients.
This role encompasses care for a diverse patient population, ranging from neonates to geriatric individuals, as defined by unit-specific standards.
Qualifications- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or a minimum of two years of relevant on-the-job experience.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is necessary.
- Possession of a current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is highly preferred, along with two years of experience in a healthcare environment.
