team to deliver basic mechanical services that meet client expectations and fulfill departmental objectives.
This is an entry-level role – Typically requires less than two years of experience and/or demonstrated relevant knowledge and skills. Relies on guidance and predefined protocols to execute job functions; operates under direct supervision.
The individual in this role is expected to exemplify the following practices consistently: 1) Align with the company's mission and core values; 2) Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders; 3) Engage in continuous personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts basic diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment issues and failures
- Assists in the disassembly, repair, and maintenance of machinery and components
- Acquires knowledge on planning repairs for equipment and components
- Learns to process parts orders and identify components for return
- Maintains all tools and workspaces – ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Completes all repair-related documentation in a timely manner
- Adheres to safety protocols at all times and complies with all company policies and standards
- May be required to work overtime based on workload and client demands
- Enhances job knowledge by participating in training opportunities; e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths
- Regular and punctual attendance is essential
- Performs additional tasks as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of machinery and tools, including their design, application, repair, and upkeep
- Proficient with current software applications, related hardware, and electronic systems
- Operational skills - Managing equipment or system operations
- Equipment selection skills - Identifying the necessary tools and equipment for tasks
- Ability to operate a standard forklift
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment for mechanical repairs
- Ability to operate machinery controls with precision
- Capability to perform coordinated movements with hands for assembly or manipulation of small components
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend information effectively
- Ability to listen and understand spoken information and ideas
Additional Qualifications:
- Must possess or acquire basic mechanic hand and pneumatic tools (metric/standard)
Education and Experience:
- One or more years of relevant work experience is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Supervisory Role:
- No supervisory responsibilities
Travel Requirements:
- No travel is anticipated for this position
Physical Demands:
- Must be capable of lifting objects and utilizing abdominal and lower back muscles for support over extended periods
- Frequently handles materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Requires constant movement and use of limbs; this position demands good manual dexterity, coordination, and endurance
- Must be able to ascend and descend using both hands and feet, including climbing ladders and/or equipment
- Must be able to maneuver safely and work beneath machinery
- Regularly responds to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
- Regularly works indoors around moving mechanical components
- May encounter varying weather conditions when working outdoors, including inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
- Noise levels may be elevated at times
- Exposure to small amounts of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
- Requires the use of common protective or safety equipment
- May need to perform tasks in confined spaces and/or elevated areas
