Medical Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

• Perform routine laboratory tests under the direction of senior laboratory personnel.
• Conduct quality control analysis to ensure accuracy of clinical data and proper instrument function.
• Report any actual or potential deviation from standard or accepted testing procedures.
• Review and enter test results into the Laboratory Information System.
• Maintain laboratory areas and equipment in a safe, functional, and sanitary condition.

• Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR published in March 14, 1990.
• One (1) to three (3) years of clinical experience preferred.

The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects. Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time. Frequent walking and/or standing.

May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.

• Basic theoretical and operational job knowledge in clinical testing.
• Knowledge of organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
• Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, establish work priorities, and handle several tasks simultaneously for maximum department efficiency.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
• Communication skills necessary to handle telephone inquiries from clients.
• Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner.
