Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Director, the Registered Nurse (RN) is a dedicated healthcare professional responsible for managing the care of a specific group of patients over a designated period. This role involves delivering patient care through effective use of nursing skills, environmental resources, and collaboration with other healthcare team members. When designated as the charge nurse, this individual will coordinate unit activities and ensure optimal patient care delivery. Responsibilities include assessing unit requirements, evaluating available resources for current and upcoming shifts based on patient acuity, and addressing individual and family needs, as well as any pending clinical procedures or interventions.
Reports to: Director of Intensive Care (ICU)
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Qualifications
Education Requirements
Must hold a current and valid Registered Nurse License in the State of Tennessee.
Essential Skills
This position requires strong critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal supervision. The RN must thrive in a high-pressure environment and respond appropriately to various situations.
Certifications Required
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
(BLS certification may be obtained during the initial week of orientation prior to patient care)
(ACLS and PALS certifications are expected within the first three months of employment)
Licensure
Must possess a current and active Registered Nurse License in the State of Tennessee.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
• May occasionally perform duties typically assigned to CNA, MA, LPN, or other nursing personnel.
• Expected to attend and engage in staff meetings, training sessions, projects, and committees as required.
• Must adhere to and promote the policies and procedures of Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg.
• Will work scheduled shifts, including overtime when necessary.
• Must accept all call schedules as directed.
• Expected to maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the established dress code.
