We are seeking a talented Central Sterile Technician PRN to join our team at North Central Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a Sterile Processing Technician Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and disinfected to meet the highest standards of patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical instrument sterilization processing, preferably in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center environment. A valid BCLS Certification is also required upon employment.

Our benefits package includes a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as comprehensive medical coverage, dental and vision benefits, life and disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, and more.

Job Summary: Assist with the care of patients by providing properly cleaned, sterilized, and disinfected instruments and equipment under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment
  • Maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care
  • Demonstrate awareness of appropriate sterilization methods needed for different instruments in accordance with the manufacturers instructions
  • Demonstrate knowledge of high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment
  • Maintain a daily log, testing for efficacy of disinfecting solution with each cycle and perform biological testing
  • Monitor and record all test loads and sterilization cycles while documenting any deviation from normal functioning to OR Coordinator and/or Nurse Manager
  • Maintain an accurate log for equipment out for repair

Qualifications:

  • One year experience in surgical instrument sterilization processing, preferably in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center environment
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment
  • Certification and knowledge of standards and recommended guidelines of Association of Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and American Society of Healthcare Central Service Professionals (ASHCSP)
