Bridgerland Technical College is seeking a skilled Plumbing Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in our plumbing program.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement curriculum for plumbing courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and college requirements.
- Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment.
- Administer and grade tests, maintain student progress and attendance records, and advance student retention in support of program goals.
- Assist students with job placement and industry certifications, and maintain contact with area employers to gather feedback on curricula and industry trends.
- Develop and prepare curricula changes based on employer advisory team recommendations, local business input, and industry standards.
- Ensure instructional content areas comply with college standards and accreditation requirements.
- Develop an annual professional development plan and participate in professional development activities.
- Participate in programmatic three-year plans and employer advisory team meetings.
- Motivate and advise students on work behavior, training, and study habits.
- Assist counselors, supervisors, and other staff as needed to resolve student training issues.
- Exemplify professionalism and good work habits, and support programmatic and college marketing activities.
- Work cooperatively within the college community, control equipment and supplies, and recommend purchases.
- Monitor budget and control expenses.
- Minimum of six years of related work experience and completion of a formal apprenticeship program.
- Current Utah Journeyman Plumbing License.
- Preference given to those with teaching experience.
- Familiarity with word processing, email, and Windows-based personal computers.
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of all racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
$30.00 to $35.00 per hour, dependent on experience.
Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00pm - 9:00pm.
