POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Atlassian Applications Engineer (Systems Engineer) to join our team at Alarm.com. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our custom-built applications through effective use of Atlassian tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement of custom-built addons and plugins.
Administer, enhance, and optimize Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and SQL databases for high performance.
Develop and maintain custom scripts using Adaptavist ScriptRunner and Groovy.
Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
Provide technical support and solutions to development teams, enhancing productivity and automation.
Collaborate with the Atlassian Change Committee on system changes and assist in user training.
Actively participate in Agile/Scrum or Kanban ceremonies and create Standard Operating Procedures for Incident Management, Disaster Recovery, and Escalations.
Develop IT Asset Management using "Assets" (formerly known as Insights).
Install, update, and maintain Atlassian services in Linux and Windows environments.
Document developed scripts, workflows, and processes comprehensively.

Resolve issues with Jira Projects and Confluence in coordination with project leads and provide training for employees on usage and new functionalities.

Build workflows and automation for self-serve Atlassian product usage, integrating state-of-the-art technical solutions, and managing permissions for Jira Projects/Boards.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
Familiarity with Git, version control, and building CI/CD pipelines.

2 to 5 years of experience with the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and plugins (ScriptRunner, Structure, Zephyr Squad/Scale).

Extensive scripting experience with Groovy, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and/or Perl.
Experience with Linux and Windows servers, and databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Hands-on experience with API manipulation, installing, upgrading, integrating, and supporting Atlassian products.
Expertise in the Atlassian product suite for both on-prem Data Center and Cloud (SaaS).
Ability to design schema configurations and templates to optimize business processes, and familiarity with APIs for automation.
Experience with scripting-based automation solutions and custom plugin development using Atlassian SDK/Forge with Java and Groovy.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and a strong mindset for security and risk.

Understanding of systems engineering protocols (DNS, DHCP) and experience with Active Directory and SSO concepts/tools (Okta, ADFS) is a plus.

Atlassian Certifications Highly Desired ( ACP-100, ACP-120, etc.)
