Security Governance Manager

We are in search of a Manager of Security & Governance for our client, a leading biotechnology firm specializing in cutting-edge cell therapy innovations. This role will be hybrid, requiring in-office presence 2-3 days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will establish vision, strategy, and comprehensive planning for the IT Security function.
- Under the supervision of the Director of Infrastructure and Security, this role will champion the overall information security program.
- This position is crucial in evaluating the IT landscape against industry best practices and benchmarks to identify vulnerabilities within the company's infrastructure, implementing security protocols to mitigate risks of attacks and breaches.
- Experience in both security operations and risk compliance is essential.
- Act as the subject matter expert in information security technologies and methodologies, collaborating with the Director of Infrastructure and Security, Head of IT, Legal, and other key stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations concerning cybersecurity (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and other international privacy laws).
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating analytical capabilities, problem-solving skills, initiative, sound judgment, decision-making, and writing proficiency.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in Information Technology and security, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a Security Engineering and/or Security Operations team.
