We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Specialist II to join our team at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide advanced direct care to children with severe emotional and behavioral challenges and needs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement behavior modification protocols to address disturbances in behavioral, emotional, and social domains of functioning.
- Provide systematic instruction to children to develop their behavioral safety and compliance abilities, improve social and communication skills, and increase on-task behavior.
- Assess and track specific target behaviors that impede patient development with minimal support.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions designed to enhance the youth's development.
- Participate in clinical care, including observing and co-leading psychotherapy groups.
- Supervise patients during restroom use and assist in the completion of new patient orientation.
- Maintain accurate documentation and functional outcome measures for assigned patients.
- Participate in training and education of patients, families, and other relevant caregivers/service providers.
- Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, education, school psychology, or a similar field of study.
- At least three years of experience with direct care of youth with social, emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric needs.
- Knowledge of typical and atypical child development and related areas.
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing in English.
- Computer skills, including familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
