Nurse Specialist for Medically Fragile Patients

Job SummaryWe are looking for a compassionate and experienced RN to provide high-quality care to medically fragile infants in the comfort of their own homes. As a Nurse Specialist with Aveanna, you will be responsible for implementing individualized plans of care, conducting thorough assessments, and coordinating with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.

This position requires a strong foundation in pediatric nursing, with experience working with critically ill patients preferred but not required. A current RN license in good standing, CPR certification, and reliable transportation are essential qualifications for this role.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. We offer a competitive salary of $34.50 - $45.00 per hour, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance. We also provide paid time off, weekly/daily pay, overtime opportunities, electronic documentation, tuition reimbursement, company-sponsored continuing education credits, and a 401(k) savings plan with employer matching.
Responsibilities- Implement physician-prescribed plans of care
- Conduct patient assessments and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
- Administer prescribed medication, treatments, and therapies
- Maintain compliant, timely documentation of care provided in our system of record
- Provide health promotion, teaching, and training to family members
- Accept and write verbal orders from physicians as required, with co-signature from Case Manager
- Follow up with physician, client, family members, staff, and Case Manager on client problems, concerns, and/or changes in client condition
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice
- CPR certification from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or BLS
- TB skin test (current within last 12 months)
- Six months prior hands-on nursing experience preferred but not required
- Reliable transportation
