Job Overview

Wood River Health is seeking a dedicated Nurse Manager to oversee operations at our healthcare facility. This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and serves as a key leader for our clinical teams, ensuring the highest standards of care and operational excellence.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall clinical environment, providing supervision and training to nursing staff and medical assistants. This position plays a crucial role in managing patients with chronic conditions, coordinating care plans, and ensuring efficient team-based services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of Registered Nurses, ensuring effective patient care delivery.
  • Maintain optimal staffing levels while managing resources responsibly to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
  • Coordinate care for patients with chronic conditions, ensuring they receive appropriate interventions and follow-up.
  • Participate in the review and management of abnormal test results, ensuring timely follow-up actions.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to nursing and medical assistant staff.
  • Facilitate competency assessments and training for clinical staff in collaboration with the Clinical Care Coordinator.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of clinical supplies, minimizing waste and ensuring availability.
  • Collaborate with vendors for the maintenance of medical equipment, recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Participate in committees and initiatives as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Represent Wood River Health at external events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred or expected within 18 months.
  • Experience in staff supervision and education is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance.
  • Proficient in documentation and reporting.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Rhode Island.
