The Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall clinical environment, providing supervision and training to nursing staff and medical assistants. This position plays a crucial role in managing patients with chronic conditions, coordinating care plans, and ensuring efficient team-based services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily activities of Registered Nurses, ensuring effective patient care delivery.
- Maintain optimal staffing levels while managing resources responsibly to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Coordinate care for patients with chronic conditions, ensuring they receive appropriate interventions and follow-up.
- Participate in the review and management of abnormal test results, ensuring timely follow-up actions.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to nursing and medical assistant staff.
- Facilitate competency assessments and training for clinical staff in collaboration with the Clinical Care Coordinator.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
- Manage inventory and ordering of clinical supplies, minimizing waste and ensuring availability.
- Collaborate with vendors for the maintenance of medical equipment, recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
- Participate in committees and initiatives as directed by the Chief Medical Officer.
- Represent Wood River Health at external events as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred or expected within 18 months.
- Experience in staff supervision and education is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance.
- Proficient in documentation and reporting.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Rhode Island.
