The Operations Manager for the Outdoor School is an integral part of the Division of Extension and Engagement, working closely with the Outdoor School Program Director. This position involves collaboration with the Director to establish program objectives, engage in strategic planning, and contribute to budget development while managing financial resources and staff activities. The Operations Manager also plays a key role in guiding program staff in executing regional strategic initiatives, such as the Bridge to Outdoor School grant program. This individual will lead grant programs and provide insights and expertise to ensure efficient workflows and compliance with university policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that strategic projects and programs undertaken by Outdoor School faculty and staff meet high-quality standards and comply with university policies, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new faculty and staff, offering guidance on university rules, customer relations, and brand standards.
  • Manage external communications and relationships with program stakeholders, providing leadership and accurate information to support faculty in their interactions with customers.
  • Provide leadership to regional and statewide faculty coordinating Outdoor School events, projects, or programs.
