About the Role

Gresham Smith is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect to lead our Higher Education and Research design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering tailored solutions for workplaces, community-focused and multi-family residential developments, and Higher Education and Research Institutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead the programming, planning, and design of Higher Education and Research projects from initial concept development to completion.
  • Design and Architecture: Perform work on all phases of design and architecture for projects, including master planning, schematic design, and design development.
  • Client Relationships: Analyze client problems and develop architectural solutions to those problems, while maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of junior architects and project coordinators, as well as lead external project consultants and engineering partners.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate experience with REVIT, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and familiarity with Sketchup and PhotoShop.
  • Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of the US Department of Education Postsecondary Education Facilities Inventory and Classification Manual, including space use categories and codes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Architecture with licensure.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of applicable experience in Education and Research design.
  • Skills: Strong verbal and writing communication skills, ability to interact professionally with project stakeholders, and ability to build and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.
