Job Overview

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to conduct experiments and interpret findings, create 3D models utilizing SolidWorks, manage projects from inception to completion, and produce technical documentation.

Key Duties

  • Collaborate with clients and project managers to thoroughly grasp product specifications and devise cost-effective, innovative solutions.
  • Engineer and develop components in alignment with product and client specifications.
  • Generate solid models, parts, assemblies, and inspection drawings, along with product travelers.
  • Design products that align with our manufacturing capabilities.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards and protocols.
  • Manage material procurement as necessary; issue purchase orders, manufacturing work orders, and liaise with suppliers to coordinate delivery timelines.
  • Formulate laboratory testing plans to verify compliance with critical product characteristics defined by customers.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Eligibility to obtain security clearance in accordance with ITAR and EAR regulations.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Previous experience in creating 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks or comparable CAD software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Five years of research experience.
  • Experience in designing and conducting thermofluids experiments in a laboratory setting.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (CNC milling, turning, TIG welding, Laser Welding).
  • Programming experience in Python, Matlab, or similar languages.
  • Background in data acquisition and test automation within a laboratory environment, including LabView.
