Job Description

As a School Psychologist for Soliant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and behavioral development of students. This position requires a strong understanding of educational psychology, the ability to conduct assessments, and experience in developing effective interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' learning, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions to support student learning and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students facing academic or emotional challenges.
  • Use data-driven decision-making to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Participate in special education evaluations and eligibility determinations.
  • Advocate for students' needs and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including IDEA.
  • Develop and implement positive behavior support strategies and programs for individual students and the school as a whole.
  • Provide professional development for teachers and staff on mental health, learning disabilities, and effective intervention strategies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Education: A master's degree or higher in School Psychology or Educational Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  2. Licensure: Must have an active State School Psychologist License.
  3. Certification: National certification through the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) is preferred but not required.
  4. Experience: Previous experience working as a school psychologist or in an educational setting is preferred but not mandatory for new graduates with appropriate training and internships.
  5. Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of psychological assessments and interventions, excellent communication and collaboration skills, knowledge of special education laws and regulations, and ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs.
  6. Background Check: All applicants must pass a criminal background check as required by the state of Minnesota.
  7. Medical Requirements: Compliance with district health policies, including any required immunizations or medical clearances.

  • Follows the school district's academic calendar, with work during the school year and optional summer sessions.
