About the Position:
Claflin University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant/Associate Professor of Criminal Justice to join our faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the Department of Social Sciences.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Criminal Justice, including criminology and criminal justice systems
- Develop and maintain a research program in Social Justice, Race and Gender, Sexuality, and Prison Reform
- Advise undergraduate students and provide mentorship in research and academic pursuits
- Participate in university service and contribute to the development of the Department of Social Sciences
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or a closely related discipline
- Area of specialization open, but the successful candidate should be a generalist and willing to teach courses in criminology and criminal justice systems
- Research interest in Social Justice, Race and Gender, Sexuality, and Prison Reform
