Job Summary

National 4-H Council is seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Worker to join our team. This role will be responsible for picking and packing customer orders, replenishing bins, unloading and loading trucks as needed, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order Picking: Fill customer orders for staging in the packing area, communicate manual backorder information, and verify items picked match the picking ticket.
  • Order Packing: Assess orders to determine the size of cartons or other packaging needed, verify items picked match the picking ticket, pack merchandise to limit damage or breakage, and determine the method of shipping based on weight and knowledge of carriers and rates.
  • Receiving: Unload inbound shipments from UPS, USPS, FedEx, and Common Carriers, examine cartons before acceptance, open and unpack cartons, check packing slips against items received, inspect goods for quality control purposes, and complete proper documentation for data entry purposes.
  • Team Contributions: Back up the Warehouse Manager as needed, assist in setting up new items and moving merchandise throughout the warehouse, monitor stock on discontinued items for inventory control and website updates, provide maintenance of the warehouse facility, and count and bag items to increase the speed of future orders.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED or equivalent in work experience.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a supply chain/warehouse environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, preferred experience with Worldship, Shopify, or similar programs, strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
Travel Requirements:

Travel may be necessary up to 10% of the time (local, regional, national) and would require travel by air, car, or rail.

ADA Requirements:

This position operates in a warehouse environment and requires the ability to lift 50 pounds or more, use heavy equipment, and work in varying temperatures.
