About the Role

The Validation Support Technician 3 will be responsible for providing technical support to validation projects in various stages of development. The technician must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision to maintain project schedules and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hardware Support: Provide hands-on support for building, testing, upgrading, and repairing of enterprise hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, programs, and firmware.
  • Lab Management: Maintain an efficient lab environment, including inventory management, tracking, shipping, and receiving materials.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineers to evaluate new electronic components and troubleshoot new servers.
  • Validation Testing: Conduct manual validation tests in a controlled environment.
  • Automation: Execute soft tools, such as diagnostics, tests, and firmware updates, and create basic automation scripts using Python and PowerShell.
  • Communication: Clearly and concisely communicate status updates and issues from a technical perspective.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or associate degree in electronics, certificate of completion of technical school, or equivalent experience in a related discipline.
  • Experience: 2+ years of troubleshooting, tech support, test execution, IT experience, or relevant experience (5+ years preferred).
  • Skills: Experience within a computer hardware and/or lab environment, Python/PowerShell scripting experience, working knowledge of troubleshooting, rack-level experience, and enterprise data center networking experience.

  • Time Management: Ability to complete tasks on time.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Technical Knowledge: Fundamental understanding of computer architecture and components, working knowledge of server, rack, and blade environments, and ability to use custom Linux and Windows-based diagnostic programs.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Climbing: Ability to safely climb ladders when necessary.
  • Personal Protective Gear: Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly when necessary.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility for extended periods without loss or reduction of productivity.
