Tenet-Alabama is in search of a dedicated Medical Lab Scientist to join our team.
Role Summary:
The Medical Lab Scientist is responsible for the processing and analysis of various laboratory specimens. This role includes reviewing and reporting laboratory results, performing essential operational tasks, and conducting maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment. The Medical Lab Scientist will also serve as a resource for other laboratory staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and test laboratory specimens.
- Review and report laboratory results accurately.
- Perform operational duties and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Provide guidance and support to laboratory personnel.
Qualifications:
Education:
Required: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or graduation from an approved medical technology program, or equivalent military training as specified by regulations.
Experience:
Required: No prior experience necessary.
Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of experience as a medical laboratory technologist or clinical laboratory scientist in an acute care setting.
Certification:
Required: Must be registered or registry eligible with an approved certifying agency (such as ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS) within the first year of employment. Non-US trained personnel must complete an equivalency evaluation within 30 days of hire.
