Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary:
NY Employer is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in providing high-quality care to our residents. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for assisting new residents in adjusting to our unit, philosophy, and goals. You will report any accidents or changes in condition to the Charge Nurse and document progress notes in the chart. You will also work as a member of the interdisciplinary team to assist with the preparation, implementation, and continuing evaluation of the care plan. Your duties will include observing, recording, and reporting progress or any changes in the resident's condition, updating the care plan as needed, and carrying out therapeutic treatments. Additionally, you will administer and dispense medications (with the exception of I.V.) to residents, observing for side effects and effectiveness. You will also secure and account for control drugs, maintain nursing care and administrative records and reports, and attend staff meetings and in-service programs. You will have a working knowledge of current nursing practice and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. You will also have the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, be dependable, resourceful, and have good observation skills and professionalism. You will be able to operate medical equipment, such as suction machines, oxygen units, and vaporizers. You will also be able to maintain detailed records and prepare reports. The ideal candidate will have a physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position and be a Licensed Practical Nurse with licensure to practice in New York State. Possession of a license within six months of appointment is required.
Responsibilities:
Assist new residents in adjusting to unit, philosophy, and goals

Requirements:

Licensed Practical Nurse with licensure to practice in New York State
Possession of a license within six months of appointment
