Job Overview
The Clinical Secretary will provide administrative support to the healthcare team, ensuring seamless communication and coordination between patients, families, and healthcare providers. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and direct phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and schedule appointments as needed.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Coordinate patient testing and procedures, communicating with other departments and healthcare providers as required.
- Enter and verify patient charges, reconciling accounts and addressing any discrepancies.
- Assemble and maintain patient charts, ensuring completeness and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Provide appointment reminders and notifications to patients and families.
- Maintain office supplies and equipment, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform data entry and other administrative tasks as required.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care, addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or administrative setting. Medical terminology knowledge and customer service skills are highly desirable.
