Job Summary

The Hawthorne Center for Rehabilitation and Healing of Sarasota is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our interdisciplinary team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a critical role in evaluating and treating residents with impaired ability to swallow or communicate due to disease process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate resident's functional needs and develop personalized treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans that promote resident independence and quality of life.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and evaluations to assess resident's communication and swallowing abilities.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to improve resident's communication and swallowing function, including the use of assistive devices and techniques.
  • Provide education and training to residents and their caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies and techniques.
  • Document resident's progress and maintain accurate and timely records.
  • Participate in discharge planning and ensure a smooth transition of care for residents.
Requirements
  • Current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice.
  • Certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association.
  • Solid computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
