About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Consultant to join our team at Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, and multi-unit residential facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform existing conditions as-built documentation of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Develop and implement mechanical system designs, layouts, and specifications for commercial and residential projects.
  • Lead design teams and collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Conduct final inspections on installations and perform heating and cooling load calculations.
  • Select and size mechanical equipment for optimal performance and efficiency.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical systems design and installation.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • P.E. license required, with the ability to become licensed in additional states.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Documented experience with mechanical and plumbing design, fire suppression systems, fuel distribution, residential and commercial HVAC principles, energy code compliance, and building controls systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
  • Keen attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to spatially recognize 3D systems transferred to a 2D set of documents.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, while balancing multiple projects and priorities.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and crouching. The employee must be able to speak and communicate clearly with employees. Some occasions may require overtime or working after normal business hours to meet project demands.
