Job Title: Expert Cloud Software Engineer

Join Ford Motor Company as an Expert Cloud Software Engineer and be part of a team that designs, builds, and operates cloud systems that power customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop cloud systems that meet business goals and optimize design implementations.
  • Lead different teams to deliver innovative and secure solutions for customers.
  • Develop long-term strategies and roadmaps in software architecture form to meet business objectives.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform application architecture and lead whiteboard sessions.
  • Develop multi-cloud SpringBoot/Java API/microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with Test Driven Development and automated continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  • Take high-level strategic objectives and work across the organization to drive mission through all stages of definition, scoping, and delivery.
  • Drive customer-centric decisions and be the focal point for critical decisions across domains.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and implement software craftsmanship, promoting good design while managing technical debt and reducing security vulnerabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and implement them through production, mobilizing others to initiate changes.
  • Focus on improving deployment processes, application performance, stability, and reliability, as well as performance and capacity planning.
  • Define a viable high-level plan supporting the organization's technical and strategic goals, demonstrating comfort in speculation and creativity in developing alternatives.
  • Remain current on sophisticated technologies impacting the business and support business and cycle planning activities to enable future investments.
  • Champion the highest engineering, architecture, and security standards for Ford.
  • Develop long-term strategies, set priorities, and work under pressure.
  • Lead all aspects of ongoing product design and architecture, including definitions, key results, customer commitments, and direct interaction with product teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibilities in cloud-based technically aligned functions.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-based solutions using Java Springboot.
  • 5+ years of experience with underlying application programming interface (API) methods for systems integrations/data exchange.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree desirable.
  • Knowledge of security considerations and how to implement them in cloud-based software solutions.
