We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Actalent. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in the operating room, working closely with surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical staff to ensure the smooth execution of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
- Operating Room Setup: Help prepare the operating room prior to an operation by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
- Instrumentation and Supply Management: Ensure proper instrumentation for each procedure, including assembling both sterile and non-sterile equipment, and assist with maintenance of supplies and equipment.
- Counting and Verification: Participate in all counts (instruments, sponges, sharps, etc.) as needed to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Medication Management: Ensure all medications are labeled and handed to the surgeon according to established policies and procedures.
- Post-Operative Care: Prepare dressings or bandages and apply or assist with their application following surgery.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least one year of experience in an operating room (OR) setting or documentation of equivalent education or training.
- Certifications: BLS certification and certification in surgical technology (desirable).
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and experience with operation monitoring, including watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure equipment is properly functioning (desirable).
