We are seeking an experienced EMS Manager/EMS System Coordinator to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. This role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department, ensuring compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) rules and regulations, and developing and implementing short and long-term departmental goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the overall daily operations of the EMS Department, ensuring compliance with IDPH rules and regulations.
- Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate short and long-term departmental goals, objectives, strategic plans, operational budgets, policy, and standard operating procedures.
- Select, develop, mentor, and coach EMS staff, fostering a connection between Northwestern Medicine values, daily work, and patient/customer satisfaction.
- Partner with the EMS Medical Director to interpret and enforce policies in accordance with system/IDPH standards.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among pre-hospital caregivers, resource hospital, and hospital personnel.
- Coordinate EMS classes and continuing education for Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMD), First Responders-Defibrillator (FR-D), EMT, Paramedic, Prehospital RN (PHRN), Emergency Communications Registered Nurse (ECRN), and Lead Instructor Recognition.
- Validate requirements toward re-licensures and certifications through the Illinois Department of Public Health.
- Represent EMS at local, regional, and state committees pertinent to areas of responsibilities.
- Facilitate the Illinois Department of Public Health annual EMS Grant Application process.
- Develop and coordinate outreach activities to area pre-hospital providers.
- Support the American Heart Association Training Center in the role of Training Center Coordinator.
- Registered Nurse or Paramedic
- Bachelor of Science Degree – Nursing or other Healthcare Related Field
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in providing Emergency care-minimum 5 years' experience
- Instructional experience to include program development and presentation
