Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Nebraska Medicine. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care, including vital signs, injections, and other medical procedures, under the direction of licensed practitioners.
  • Assist physicians and support staff with daily tasks, ensuring the efficient operation of the clinic.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with industry developments and best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a physician's office or related healthcare setting preferred.
  • Medical assistant certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to be bilingual in English and Spanish for working in certain clinics preferred.
  • Medical Scribe experience or equivalent preferred.
