Job Summary

As a Supervisory IT Specialist at the Department of Energy, you will serve as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for SEPA, providing strategic guidance on the application of IT to improve business processes. You will lead a team of IT professionals in implementing Enterprise Architecture and IT planning procedures, as well as protecting SEPA's mission-critical IT systems through strengthened cyber security management and technical controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic, tactical, and capital information technology plans and processes to support SEPA's mission.
  • Collaborate and provide oversight for SEPA-wide information technology activities.
  • Define and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure efficient and cost-effective information resources planning, acquisition, and cyber/computer security.
  • Manage and lead SEPA's Physical and Cyber Security Programs.
  • Ensure collaboration and shared planning among IT program elements associated with SEPA's Interconnected Electric Power System Balancing Authority.

Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service (if applicable).
  • Must be suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Qualifications
  • Must have IT-related experience demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have specialized experience leading a team of IT professionals and/or Electronics Engineers in a 24X7 Control Center environment.
