CDR Maguire Engineering is seeking a skilled professional to join our Survey Team in a dynamic role that combines field and office work.

About the Position:

The ideal candidate will assist and support licensed surveyors in collecting and processing geospatial data, preparing field notes, and obtaining measurements. This will involve operating GPS and conventional survey equipment, reducing and processing field data, performing courthouse research, plotting deeds, and generating drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a survey crew using various types of survey equipment, including levels, total stations, GPS, and UAS.
  • Assist in surveying boundary and topography surveys, route surveys, engineering surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, layout surveys, bathymetric surveys, and control surveys.
  • Collect field notes using both paper and electronic field books.
  • Process field-collected data using computer software.
  • Gain experience in drafting survey-related mapping plans using AutoCAD and Microstation CAD platforms.
  • Perform research of deeds and maps at the courthouse.
  • Use and maintain state-of-the-art survey equipment.
  • Perform various field tasks requiring the clearing of brush, traversing through suburban, urban, and rural areas, and carrying of equipment and/or supplies.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Surveying and/or survey experience.
  • SIT preferred.
  • Experience with Bentley InRoads, AutoCAD, and/or OpenRoads is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within a team setting.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
  • A valid driver's license.
