Position Overview:

As a Senior Virtualization & VDI Administrator, you will play a critical role in enhancing system resilience and efficiency, allowing for the development of advanced capabilities. Your expertise in network engineering, systems administration, or software development will be invaluable in this role.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Department of Defense (DoD) to create robust systems through the establishment of a resilient infrastructure.
  • Implement redundancy measures, utilize monitoring tools, and automate processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Minimize manual tasks by scripting routine operations and enabling self-repair capabilities.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers while expanding your own knowledge in virtualization and systems design.

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with VMware and Horizon VDI in isolated environments.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and computer systems.
  • Proficient in performance tuning, hardware upgrades, hypervisor management, and resource optimization.
  • Experience in installing, configuring, managing, and monitoring VDI components.
  • Knowledge of DoD SAP security standards and compliance requirements for virtualization systems.
  • Ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of operational procedures for VDI environments.
  • Possession of a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Security+ or higher DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and executing test strategies, along with troubleshooting virtualization infrastructure issues.
  • Familiarity with zero and thin client management, as well as virtual application management.
  • Understanding of storage and network systems, including active directory, DHCP, DNS, and virtualization optimization.
  • Relevant VMware or industry-standard certifications.
