Job Description

Sigma Defense is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to assist in the development and modernization of Government systems, sub-systems, and components through engineering integrations.

The Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) is a critical component of the Tactical Internet Protocol (IP) Routing and Switching system for Wide Area Network IP Services. As a Network Engineer for ADNS Systems, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient use of available satellite and line of site communications bandwidth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with development and modernization of Government systems, sub-systems, and components through engineering integrations.
  • Support improvement of WAN/LAN posture leading architecture research and design in support of current and future Naval Requirements.
  • Provide engineering change support to the In-Service Engineering Activity team via on-site services on equipment/systems to perform Cisco-based troubleshooting, identification of root cause and correction of other system-specific faults and failures.
  • Participate in numerous Network integration and testing support events within Government test facilities in support of system interoperability.
  • Perform technical document reviews and participate in technical working groups.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in DoD or other Government Unclassified and Classified Systems/Networks, Cisco Routing and Switching, Network Engineering, Network Testing, and Implementation Planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and ensure optimum productivity.
  • Ability to work with Network related hardware and software.
  • Ability to conduct research on Cisco or other related Network hardware components.
  • Ability to conduct testing and regression testing on Government facilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite Products, and PC hardware architecture.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and to take initiative.
  • Ability to quickly grasp and implement technical concepts.
  • Ability to work well with other Engineering focus groups and personnel ranging from Junior to Chief Network, Systems, or Cyber Engineers.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field of study.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess an active, DoD issued Secret security clearance.
  • A clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Mandatory Certifications:

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II - Security+ (or equivalent) and CCNA; CCNP is preferred.

Salary Range:

$90,000 - $115,000 annually.
