Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at University Hospitals. As an Athletic Trainer, you will play a critical role in supporting our athletes and athletic programs by providing comprehensive fitness, nutrition, injury care, and conditioning programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports Athletes and Athletic Programs
    • Performs athlete evaluation on/off the field; provides immediate care as needed and/or develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to the athlete's needs.
    • Selects and competently uses a variety of appropriate treatment techniques.
    • Educates athlete/family in applicable treatment and prevention.
    • Regularly uses and keeps up-to-date documentation via UH preferred injury tracking software.
  • Performs Other Duties
    • Assists Athletic Director in ordering supplies and keeping current inventories.
    • Billing and other administrative tasks.
  • Complies with Policies and Standards
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Complies with all policies and standards.
    • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
    • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
    Qualifications
    • Education
      • Bachelor degree in Sports Medicine or other related program.
    • Required Credentials, License, and/or Certifications
      • Board of Certification (BOC) - Certified.
      • Licensed by OTPTAT Board to practice athletic training in the State of Ohio.
    • Experience and Knowledge
      • Minimum 1 year experience as an ATC preferred.
      • Specific experience with general principles of injury prevention and first aid required.
    • Special Skills and Equipment Knowledge
      • Must be physically and cognitively able to provide care and to be able to assist in moving people and/or equipment.
