Machinist III

As a Machinist III, you'll play a critical role in our manufacturing process, working with precision CNC machining and gear cutting equipment to produce precise gears for our products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate multiple machines simultaneously to meet production demands
• Interpret written instructions and specifications, including blueprint reading
• Perform a variety of turning operations with aluminum, cast iron, and steel materials to specified tolerances
• Use a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and quality
• Monitor the production process and follow inspection procedures to ensure compliance with company quality standards
• Perform machine setups and tool changes to optimize production efficiency
• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds of machining
• Partially dismantle machines and perform minor maintenance work to prevent downtime
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards
• Responsible for completing work orders and reporting labor hours worked
• Recommend process changes to optimize production and improve quality
• Keep the work area clean and orderly to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements:

• Prefer one (1) year of CNC training in an accredited vocational institute and three (3) years of machining experience
• Ability to interpret written instructions and specifications
• Good mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed drawings, sketches, notes, and blueprints
• Knowledge of metric dimensions and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and job assignments
• Ability to work well with others and provide own basic inspection and hand tools
