Commercial Roofer

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Boston University. As a commercial roofer, you will be responsible for installing and repairing roofs, as well as performing preventative maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:

1. Inspect and repair damaged roofs, including built-up roofs and single-ply roofing systems
2. Apply new roofing materials, such as sheet metal, composition shingles, or asphalt
3. Clean debris and snow from roofs, gutters, and downspouts
4. Secure area to ensure safety while work is in-progress and through completion

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of current Commercial Roofing experience
• Osha-10 certified
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Demonstrated mathematical ability
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Ability to comprehend, construct, and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and shop drawings for the task being done
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb, and work from ladders and aerial lifts with no height limitations

Preferred Requirements:

• Completion of an Apprenticeship Program
• Certified Manufacturer Roofing System Installer
