Job Overview

As an Electrical Line Technician at Lone Star Instrumentation & Electric Corporation, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical power lines and equipment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with linemen to perform installation, repair, and maintenance tasks on overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Prepare and assemble necessary line apparatus for specific tasks, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including disposal of scrap materials and proper storage of tools and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with power plant dispatch regarding circuit openings and closings, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Assist with using and maintaining protective equipment, such as hot sticks and rubber goods, to prevent accidents and ensure worker safety.
  • Operate hand and power tools, load materials onto trucks and/or trailers, and assist linemen in second bucket operations while working on lines.
  • Prepare pole mount transformers and assist with installations, as well as assemble conduit and place it in trenches.
  • Perform duties involving prolonged standing, sitting, crouching, and/or stooping, as well as pushing, pulling, and positioning heavy tools and materials, while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Accurately read and record meter data, ensuring precise measurements and reporting.
  • Operate boom, bucket trucks, and other heavy equipment requiring a valid Texas CDL, adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Hold an Apprentice Electrical License, demonstrating a strong foundation in electrical theory and practices.
  • Possess a valid CDL, enabling safe transportation of equipment and personnel.
  • Pass a drug test, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Prior experience is preferred (1 year), but not required; what matters most is your willingness to learn and grow with our team.
  • Be available to travel and work varying shifts, adapting to changing schedules and priorities.
