Position SummaryAs the Executive Sous Chef at Compass Group, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Culinary Department's operations at our educational facilities. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the management, preparation, and cooking of a variety of dishes, as well as developing daily menus and their presentation. You will also have the opportunity to supervise team members and collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative menu offerings and assist with procurement.
Work Schedule: Days off include Wednesday and Thursday.
Daily Hours: Monday to Sunday, with specific hours from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Executive Chef in managing budgetary controls and monitoring expenditures.
- Assist in menu planning and development.
- Oversee the execution of catering events.
- Implement new culinary initiatives in collaboration with the marketing and culinary teams.
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
- Progressive experience in culinary or kitchen management, based on formal education or training.
- Experience in catering is advantageous.
- Desirable experience in high-volume, complex food service operations.
- Familiarity with institutional and batch cooking practices.
- In-depth knowledge of food trends, quality control, production, sanitation, cost management, and presentation.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and email.
- Willingness to engage in client satisfaction initiatives.
- ServSafe certification is highly preferred.
