Job Title: Senior Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team at the Golisano Institute for Sustainability. As a core member of our dedicated research team, you will support an engineering team on various applied research and technical programs.

The successful candidate will leverage their experience in setting up and executing a wide variety of laboratory tests, including analysis of data and generating high-quality test reports for our customers. The work may include operation of prototype fluid/thermal manufacturing processes, test equipment for electro-mechanical devices, and evaluation of printing system quality.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Prior exposure to a wide variety of different types of testing is beneficial, and interest and ability in diverse work assignments, as well as the ability to learn on the job, are critical to the position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support an engineering team on various applied research and technical programs
  • Set up and execute a wide variety of laboratory tests
  • Analyze data and generate high-quality test reports
  • Operate prototype fluid/thermal manufacturing processes
  • Evaluate printing system quality
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 10 years of technician experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills, including use of MS Office software
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • Good hands-on (electro-mechanical) skills
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates degree is strongly preferred
  • Exposure to printing equipment and processes, and print quality testing
  • Experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment (quality assurance, metrology, materials laboratory, equipment repair, etc)
