Diagnostic Imaging Technician III Job Description

At Yale New Haven Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our Clinical Engineering Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our diagnostic imaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diagnostic imaging equipment, adhering to OEM-approved procedures and departmental standards.
  • Work from technical manuals and specifications to troubleshoot and repair complex electronic systems.
  • Collaborate with administrators, IT personnel, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of diagnostic imaging technologies.
  • Provide training and on-the-job instruction to less experienced personnel.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical education sessions.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on diagnostic imaging technologies, providing guidance and support to colleagues and external partners.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely documentation of equipment and parts.
  • Participate in on-call duties and provide technical support to clinicians and engineers.
Requirements:
  • Diagnostic imaging modality training from an OEM, third-party, or military training.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering.
  • Seven years of related technical experience, with five years working directly on diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Proven ability to service multi-modality/multi-vendor diagnostic imaging systems with minimal OEM support.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations.
